03/25/2024 - Boil Water Notification Rescinded

On March 23, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the Angelina County FWSD No. 1 public water system (PWS ID Number 0030102) to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Angelina County FWSD No. 1 has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by Angelina County FWSD No. 1 used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of March 25, 2024.

Angelina County FWSD No. 1 serves water customers in the Cedar Grove Community, approximately 1 mile north of the City of Lufkin along FM 2251.  A map of the District’s service area can be found at www.acfwater.org/district-map.html.

Due to a water main break that resulted in low pressures in the water distribution system , the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the Angelina County FWSD No. 1 public water system (PWS ID Number 0030102) to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, Angelina County FWSD No. 1 officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking or human consumption purposes. Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, Angelina County FWSD No. 1 will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

10/16/2023 - Notificaion of Water Meter Upgrades

To All ACF Water Customers:  Angelina County FWSD No. 1 has purchased a new smart water meter system that will allow personnel to read meters electronically, which is more efficient and accurate. Operator crews will begin installing the new meters on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in approximately 3 weeks. When an individual meter is replaced, Operator crews will need to temporarily shut off the water so that the new meter can be installed.  The water should only be off for a brief period of time and will be restored as soon as the new meter is installed.  If you have any questions, please contact the main office at (936) 632-7795.

10/05/2023 - Request for assistance in locating leak

The District has been made aware of a significant water leak within the water system.  Operations staff have been searching for the leak but have not yet been able to identify it.  From our research, we believe it is located somewhere north of the Susie Street area. The District is asking all water customers to check the surrounding areas your home and property for any large wet areas or running water that could potentially be a leak.  If you find anything that looks suspicious and could be a water leak, please call our office at (936) 632-7795.

08/28/2023 - Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate

The Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (the District) will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the 2023 tax year, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the office of the Angelina & Neches River Authority, located at 2901 N. John Redditt Dr., Lufkin, Texas. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

08/03/2023 - Notice Regarding upcoming construction activities

Dear Angelina County FWSD No. 1 Water Customers:  District staff has been made aware of a water leak on Jackson Road and we are planning to make the repair on Monday, August 7, 2023.  During this time, you may experience short periods of low water pressure and possibly a temporary road closure between Smallwood Road and Ruth Lane; however, operations staff will be working diligently to make this repair as quickly as possible. 06/14/2023 - Notice Regarding upcoming construction activities

Dear Angelina County FWSD No. 1 Water Customers:  The City of Lufkin will be replacing another water main isolation valve on Thursday, June 15, 2023, between 8 AM and approximately 1 PM that will require them to temporarily shut off water supply to the District’s water master meter on FM 2251.  The District was able to re-activate the old water supply line, so we do not anticipate there to be any interruption of water service during this time period.  Please do not hesitate to contact us at (936) 632-7795 if you have any questions.


06/07/2023 - Notice Regarding upcoming construction activities

Dear Angelina County FWSD No. 1 Water Customers:  As you are aware, Angelina County FWSD No. 1 receives all of its water from the City of Lufkin.  The City of Lufkin will be replacing a water main isolation valve that will require them to temporarily shut off water supply to Angelina County FWSD No. 1.  The City has scheduled this work activity on Monday, June 12, 2023, between the hours of 7:30 AM and approximately 3:00 PM. We anticipate there will be an interruption of water service during this time period; however, City crews will be working diligently to restore water service as quickly as possible.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (936) 632-7795.


05/15/2023 - Notice Regarding Low Pressures

To All Angelina County FWSD No. 1 Customers: The District has been made aware from customers that they are still experiencing brief periods of lower than normal water pressure. As you are aware, the District purchases all of its water under direct pressure and pre-treated from the City of Lufkin. The District is working with the City of Lufkin to identify and resolve the cause of the low pressure issues. We appreciate your patience and apologize about any inconvenience this may cause. 02/23/2023 - Notice Regarding City of Lufkin Water System Improvements

To All Angelina County FWSD No. 1 Customers:

As you are aware, the District purchases all of its water from the City of Lufkin. The City has informed the District that they are working on some water system improvements that is anticipated to be complete by April 2023. During this time, you may experience some instances where water pressures are lower than normal. Please be aware that these inconveniences will only be temporary and the District is working with the City to minimize these occurrences. We thank you for your patience. 12/22/2022 - Notice Regarding Extreme Weather Emergencies

This communication is to notify you that Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1, your retail water and sanitary sewer provider, is:

  • prohibited from imposing late fees or disconnecting retail water or sewer service for nonpayment of bills that are due during an extreme weather emergency until after the emergency is over;
  • required to offer a payment schedule to a customer who requests such a schedule for unpaid bills due during an extreme weather emergency; and
  • prohibited from disconnecting retail water or sewer service for nonpayment of bills due during an extreme weather emergency until after a payment schedule has been offered and the customer has either declined to accept the payment schedule in a timely fashion or violated the terms of the payment schedule.

For the purposes of this communication, an “extreme weather emergency” is defined as a period beginning when the previous day’s highest temperature in an area did not exceed 28 degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature is predicted to remain at or below that level for the next 24 hours according to the nearest National Weather Service reports for that area. An extreme weather emergency is over on the second business day the temperature exceeds 28 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • prohibido imponer cargos por demora o desconectar el servicio de agua o alcantarillado por falta de pago de las facturas que vencen durante una emergencia climática extrema hasta después de que termine la emergencia;
  • requerido a ofrecer un plan de pago a un cliente que solicite dicho acuerdo para las facturas adeudadas durante una emergencia climática extrema; y
  • prohibido desconectar el servicio de agua o alcantarillado por falta de pago de facturas adeudadas durante una emergencia climática extrema hasta que se haya ofrecido un plan de pago y el cliente se haya negado a aceptar el plan de pago de manera oportuna o haya violado los términos del plan de pago.

El propósito de este comunicado, es a devido a una “emergencia climática extrema” se define como un período que comienza cuando la temperatura más alta del día anterior en un área no superó los 28 grados Fahrenheit y se pronostica que la temperatura permanecerá en ese nivel o por debajo de este durante las próximas 24 horas de acuerdo con los informes del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional más cercano para esa área. Una emergencia climática extrema termina el segundo día laboral en que la temperatura supera los 28 grados Fahrenheit.

07/15/2021 - Alerts and Emergency Notifications Now Available via Text Messages

Angelina County FWSD No. 1 is now offering an alert notification service to all of its water customers.  This service will allow customers to be notified by text message of important information pertaining to the water system.  Types of alerts that will be sent using this service include, but are not limited to, boil water notices, scheduled maintenance or repair activities, water conservation notices, and any other situations that might result in interruption of service.  Customers can register for this service at no additional cost and it can be cancelled at anytime; however, standard cellular message and data rates from your service provider may apply.

07/14/2021 - Water Line Repairs

Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (District) was informed that a contractor installing electric utilities inadvertently damaged one of the District’s water distribution lines on FM 2251.  Repair crews are on site to make the necessary repairs now and anticipates the work to be complete by 7:00 PM today (7/14/2021).  During this time, customers may experience lower than normal pressures while repairs are being made.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the District’s business office at (936) 632-7795.

The Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to construct improvements on the existing Rivercrest Wastewater Collection System.  The Project consists of improvements to three (3) sanitary sewer pump station discharge pipe assemblies, seventeen (17) sanitary sewer manholes, and twenty-three (23) sanitary sewer cleanouts.

Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified auditing firms to conduct its financial audit for Fiscal Year
2016, which ended on September 30, 2016.

SOQ’s should include the firm’s credentials and ability to perform the work requested and
resumes for those individuals that will be performing the audit work, noting their job title and
relevant work experience. All SOQs must be received by 5:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017.

NOTIFICATION OF SECOND PUBLIC MEETING

All District Customers:

The Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (the District) Board of Supervisors (Board) will be conducting a second public meeting regarding the upcoming sewer project to provide first time sewer to approximately 150 existing water customers.  This meeting will provide additional information to District customers regarding details of the project, project timelines, impact to customer rates, as well as allow customers to voice any questions or concerns.  The meeting will take place as follows:

When:  Tuesday, April 22, 2014 - 6:00 PM
Where:  Harvest Family Worship Center
4176 FM 2251, Lufkin, Texas 75904

5/12/2012 - Status of Redland Estates Annexation Election

On May 12, 2012 the vote on the proposition to annex Redland Estates was held, and the proposition passed.
The Redland Estates subdivision is now a part of Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District #1.
