Elections

The Texas Election Code requires that elections for board members occur in May of even numbered years if there are contested races for a position on the Board. The District, as with all governmental elections, adheres to the uniform election dates required in the Elections Code. The Texas Secretary of State sets the official elections calendar for all governmental entities to follow. Potential candidates for positions on the Board of Supervisors are required to apply for a place on the ballot and file the documents with the District. This process usually begins in early March during election years. In the event there are not multiple candidate fillings or contested races, elections are not required.
